The Membership Kit.

What BlackGenius Canada commits to offering every member family — and what we expect in return. This is the document every parent reads and accepts before submitting an enrollment.

Last updated: July 20, 2026

This Kit summarizes the mutual commitments between your family and BlackGenius Canada. It does not replace our privacy policy (Bill 25), which remains the reference document for data protection.
1. Who we are+

BlackGenius Canada is neither a school nor a tutoring service. It's a structured community, driven by engaged parents who choose to take charge of their children's academic path with the rigour of an elite program.

"We don't prepare students. We're building a generation."

Three commitments guide our work: identify each child's real level without complacency, equip each family with an individualized plan and concrete resources, and document the path travelled so the child leaves with proof of their progress.

2. What BlackGenius Canada offers you+
  • Weekly academic tutoring in math, science, French and English, in small groups by grade level.
  • Competition prep for math, science and logic competitions, and support toward enriched programs (IB).
  • The Math Games — our online training app, available to every member child, with prizes awarded at the Nuit des Défis.
  • Coding and robotics, modern languages, public-speaking and leadership workshops.
  • Two STEM summer camps (July and August) and five signature events per year, including the Nuit des Défis.
  • University mentorship — our "Mentor for a Day" program with Afro-Canadian professionals and students.
  • An annual academic diagnostic and an individualized plan shared with parents.

Full program details are available on the Programs page.

3. What we expect from your family+

By joining BlackGenius Canada, every family commits to:

  • Meeting the academic thresholds at admission and throughout the program (Math ≥ 80 · Science ≥ 80 · English ≥ 70 · French ≥ 70). A child who falls below these thresholds receives a dedicated catch-up plan.
  • Paying the annual membership fee and the quarterly dues before the first session (amounts communicated by a coordinator). Occasional exceptional fees may apply for certain paid outings or competitions (AMC 8, Caribou, Kangourou, Biodôme), always voted on at the general assembly and communicated in advance. In case of genuine financial hardship, a confidential discussion with coordinators remains possible.
  • Taking on one collective task per term — facilitation, logistics, transport or communications — because BlackGenius Canada runs on the involvement of its families, not just its staff.
  • Respecting the confidentiality clause: what's shared within the group (report cards, profiles, exchanges between families) stays there.
  • Understanding that removal from the program does not entitle a family to a refund of fees paid.

These are the same commitments you confirm by checkbox at the final step of the enrollment form.

4. Your child's image and voice rights+

Photos and videos taken at our events (such as the Nuit des Défis) may be used in our official communications — but never without your written consent. Until we receive your signed consent, any content involving your child stays strictly internal.

Our formal commitments:

  • Never use your child's image for commercial or paid advertising purposes.
  • Never associate their image with a political, religious or commercial message.
  • Never publish their family name alongside their photo or video.
  • Remove any image or footage upon written request, within a maximum of 7 days.

You can withdraw or change your consent at any time, free of charge and without justification, via the image authorization form or by writing to contact@blackgeniuscanada.org.

5. After admission+

Once your file is submitted, a coordinator will contact you within 5 business days for a 30-minute family interview. A decision follows within 10 days. If admitted, you'll receive official confirmation along with the confidentiality commitment to sign, in addition to this Kit.

For any question before or during the enrollment process, write to inscriptions@blackgeniuscanada.org.
