2026 Edition · Nuit des Défis The movement in motion

We're not preparing students.
We're building a generation.

BlackGenius Canada brings together Afro-Canadian families who take charge, together, of their children's academic path — with the rigour of an elite program and the solidarity of a community.

Our approach

Three pillars, one method.

We are neither a school nor a tutoring service. We are a structured community that takes charge of its children's academic path with the same rigour as an elite program.

i. Pedagogy

Individualized plans, measurable indicators.

Targeted tutoring, themed camps, coding, preparation for science competitions. Each child progresses at their own pace, with a file that builds step by step.

ii. Events

Learn, celebrate, pass it on.

Five signature gatherings shape our year: Nuit des Défis, the Merit Walk, the Math Games, Summer Academy, Mentor for a Day.

iii. Community

Many families, one movement.

A solidarity of Afro-Canadian parents, mentors and volunteers. One child's success inspires all the others — we're building a movement, not a service.

Pedagogical pillar

Rigour that is taught, never endured.

We believe that rigour is liberating, as long as it is taught with patience and embodied by role models our children recognize themselves in.

Personalized plans, weekly small-group sessions, preparation for national and international math, science, logic and programming competitions, coding workshops, world languages: every program is built to reveal potential, not standardize it.

Events pillar

Five gatherings that shape the year.

Nuit des Défis. The Merit Walk. The Math Games. Summer Academy. Mentor for a Day. Each one, a moment of transmission.

These events exist to bring our vision to life: publicly celebrating academic progress, creating challenges scaled to a child's level, and weaving the bond between generations.

Community pillar

Many families, one movement.

The strength of BlackGenius Canada is the alliance of families who choose to take their children's potential seriously.

Eleven founding families in 2025. Fifty families targeted for 2027. A hundred and fifty and beyond by 2030. At every stage, solidarity remains our method and transparency our principle.

"Our children have the potential to attend the best schools in the world, and that potential deserves to be cultivated with method, rigour and love."

Measuring what we build

Numbers, records,
proof.

Excellence is documented. Every step forward is recorded, so that each child can one day hold their own file and see the road travelled.

Parents' words

What founding families say.

We spent a long time looking for a demanding environment that wouldn't make our children feel they had to choose between excellence and their identity. BlackGenius proves you don't have to choose.
Aïcha K — Mother of a Grade 6 child · Founding family
This isn't tutoring. It's a community of parents who decide to take their children's potential seriously — and who stand together to make it happen.
