Behind BlackGenius Canada: committed parents, volunteer coordinators, and soon a scientific committee. Here are the people who bring our nonprofit to life every day.

The eleven families who sparked the movement.

In 2026, eleven families of African descent pooled their resources, their time and their standards to give their children what they had been searching for in vain: a framework for academic excellence rooted in their identity.

Mother: HR consultant · Father: civil engineer. Two children, Grade 6 and Secondary 2. Coordinators for the elementary level.

Mother: teacher · Father: entrepreneur. Three children in high school. Coordinators for science competitions.

Mother: lawyer · Father: physician. One child in Secondary 4. Legal coordinators (non-profit incorporation).

Mother: financial analyst · Father: architect. Two children in elementary school. Treasury coordinators.

Mother: pharmacist · Father: chemistry teacher. Three children. Summer Academy coordinators.

Operational coordination

Running committees, following up with families, partner relations. Role held on an annual rotation among founding families.

Pedagogical coordination

Academic follow-up

Level diagnostics, individualized plans, liaison with tutors. Handled by our nonprofit's parent-teachers.

Event coordination

Organizing the five signature gatherings

Nuit des Défis, the Merit Walk, the Math Games, Summer Academy, Mentor for a Day. A rotating logistics team.

Scientific committee · 2027

Guaranteeing academic rigour.

Starting in 2027, an independent scientific committee — made up of practicing teachers, doctoral candidates and science professionals — will oversee the design and grading of the BlackGenius Math Games tests.
